Book Review
Finding out you're different from everyone around you can be an incredibly scary and upsetting thing. For children especially, learning they need special help that others don't can make them feel like they've somehow failed. It's an important lesson that being different is not bad, and it's one Zola Gets Hearing Aids does very well.
It's not easy to find a children's book dedicated to such a big adjustment, and it's incredibly heartening to see this book do it so wonderfully. And even without its excellent lesson, this is just a wonderful book. The art is colorful and detailed, and it's an excellent story of overcoming fear and change. Whether or not your child has learned they too suffer hearing loss, this book is highly recommended.
