When Joseph's father stops coming to see him, Joseph is upset and confused. He doesn't know why, and it hurts him. Maybe, however, it doesn't have to.
Joseph's Journey is an excellent lesson in emotional maturity and the power of choice. Even when upset, people have the ability to choose what to focus on--whether to wallow in hurt, or to shift focus to something that brings them joy. This book is a great first lesson in children to move on past hurt and keep on moving!
