Book Review

This book is an excellent metaphor for explaining loss and grief to a child. It's a prevalent message of hope; and a reminder that just because a person has gone where you can't yet, it doesn't mean their love has. We will all be together again one day, and a loved one's life and memory is something to be celebrated even as their loss is mourned.

Told through the life cycle of a butterfly, Flutterfly depicts its heartwarming message with fantastic art and delivery. The soft watercolor style of the pictures is an excellent partner to the story, which is told in a lovely rhyme. Even without its excellent message, this book is a sure favorite to any child that reads it.
